Victor Esquire

Victor Esquire

Yes, this looks just like a Victor Model V, which it basically is. The V started out as the Challenger in 1940, but then Victor took the four legs off and changed it to the Esquire later that same year. Only a few months after that, the name was changed to the Victor V in 1941. All of the pre-war Model Vs are massively heavy - this one is well over 18 pounds - some of the weightiest machines around. I got this from a collector in Utah about 10 years ago. I would love to say this machine is original, but, if it was, it would be the only light hammered blue Victor I ever saw. But it is a great repaint, so I will just pretend. The globe and decal, however, are the real McCoy! Measures 15.5" x 7.5" square. - Scott
