Stadium Seat Lock

$165.00

Here is a very unique item, a stadium seat lock made by the Hower White Company of Atlantic City, New Jersey. Apparently they were often used at race tracks. If you were sitting in a seat and wanted to go place a bet, and didn't want someone else to take your seat while you were gone, you could insert two quarters into this device, turn and remove the key and the seat would be locked in the up position. You could lock and unlock the seat as many times as you wanted for your one time insertion of coins. At the end of the day, insert the key one last time and turn the knob back and receive a one quarter refund. To see a copy of the original patent for this device, click here. The key has a tag on it that shows section, row and seat, and the other key is used to remove the money. It does not include the mounting bracket but that would not be too difficult to fashion. Has original paint, locks and keys. Works well and would be a nice addition if you have a section of stadium seats from an old ballpark in your game room. Approximately 4" high and wide and 2" deep.
